Poetry May Not Matter, But it Sure Gets Around


In recent months, I've been asked for permission to reprint my poems in a Belgian desk calendar, in a 'drop' of poems from an aeroplane somewhere in Great Britain, and in ....well, bubble gum machines on a college campus back east.

These requests are odd, but they rather tickle me, I confess it.   What these particular publishers are interested in is the element of surprise, which is something in general short supply.
